Fulton Family YMCA Teams Up with St. Luke Nurses to Offer Free Bone Density Screenings to the Public on April 17

Nurses from St. Luke Family of Caring affiliates are teaming up with the Fulton Family YMCA to offer bone density screenings on Tuesday, April 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Fulton YMCA, 715 West Broadway.

The screenings are free of charge and open to YMCA members and the public, no appointment is necessary. “This is an opportunity to receive a valuable health screening that is easy to do and will only take few minutes,” said St. Luke Nurse Ann Waite, part of the screening team.

Nurses will be available to discuss screening results and actions to help improve bone health. As a member of the Oswego County Falls Prevention Coalition, information about falls prevention strategies will be available and nurses can answer questions about how to reduce the risk of falls in your home.

“The free screenings can provide information that may help you to improve your health, especially for anyone who may be experiencing the onset of osteoporosis or who may be experiencing trouble with their balance,” said Brea Goss, Director of Health and Wellness at the Fulton Family YMCA. “Representatives from our YMCA will be here to discuss our many programs and services offered that can help enhance your quality of life through exercise or other activities.”
